Your data and your phone
I changed phone — will my songs be there?
No. Nalu keeps everything on the device and has no server holding a copy: songs, favourites, routines and progress live only there. It's the same choice that lets the app work without an account and without a connection, but this is its price. If you move between iPhones through a full iOS backup, the app's data travels with the rest.
If I uninstall the app, do I lose everything?
Yes. There is no backup on my systems, so nothing can be recovered.
Purchases
I bought the ad removal but the banner is still there
Go to Profile → Restore purchases. This happens after a reinstall, or when the purchase confirmation arrives while the app is still starting up. If the banner survives the restore, write to me.
Does the purchase work on my other devices?
It works on devices signed in with the same Apple ID: use Restore purchases on the new one.
Sound and exercises
I can't hear the metronome
Check that the Audible click chip is on, either in Practice under the settings or in the "Adjust on the spot" card during the exercise. The app plays even with the silent switch engaged, so that isn't the cause.
What are "guide notes"?
They are an ear reference: when they're on, the app plays the chord or the scale note you are meant to be playing at that moment. They're on in the guided path levels and off in free practice, where you can enable them in the settings. They're independent of the metronome click.
The exercise stops when I leave the app
Yes, by design: audio does not continue in the background.
I can't find the tuner
It isn't part of this version. It's also why the app never asks for microphone access.
Songs
How do I import a song?
Go to Library → Add by pasting and paste the text with its chords. Nalu
recognises chords written above the words, the inline [C] format, and Markdown copies
from tab sites. If the copy loses its alignment, put [C] right before the word where
the chord changes.
A chord in my song isn't recognised
This can happen with uncommon symbols. Write to me with the exact symbol: adding it to the catalog is quick.
